Eye Care with our Optometrist in Ashburn

Optics&EYECARE offers a range of eye care services, including writing prescriptions for corrective lenses, which include glasses and contacts, prescribing certain medications, fitting contact lenses, providing vision therapy, and diagnosing and treating common eye conditions. Optometrists are required to obtain a four-year science degree and another four years of professional education and training in optometry. Our optometry doctor at Optics&EYECARE, Dr. Seema Mohanan, offers comprehensive eye exams, pediatric eye exams, eye LASIK consultations and aftercare and emergency eye care.

Your Eye Examination with our Doctor of Optometry

One of our primary services is comprehensive eye exams. These exams are designed to test your vision and eye health. For children and adults who wear glasses or contacts, we recommend yearly examinations. Individuals with chronic health problems, like diabetes and high blood pressure, may need exams more often than once a year. Adults with no history of vision problems should receive an eye examination once every two years, and children who do not wear corrective lenses should receive an eye examination once a year with our doctor of optometry, Dr. Seema Mohanan.

Contacts Eye Exam

In addition to providing comprehensive eye exams, our eye doctor also offers eye exams for contact lenses. A contacts eye exam is slightly more involved than a yearly vision exam or an eye exam for glasses. Along with testing for common eye diseases and refractive errors, a contact lens exam also involves measuring your cornea and fitting your new contact lenses.

During your initial appointment, our eye doctor will perform your comprehensive eye exam and determine your contact lens fit. This involves testing a pair of sample lenses in your eyes. Once the vision is correct and the fit is determined, your new lenses will be ordered. When they arrive, another appointment will be scheduled to make sure that your new lenses provide you with the correct amount of vision correction and that they fit properly.

Corrective Lenses at Optics&EYECARE

We offer glasses and contact lenses for the correction of refractive errors, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Our optometry shop offers a wide range of frames, and our eye doctor at our eye care center can write prescriptions for single-vision, bifocal and trifocal glasses. If you would prefer contacts, we offer hard and soft lenses, and other specialty contact lenses as well. This means that you do not have to wear vision correction during the day.
